Our Philosophy
Welcome to beautiful Burgundy!
Our dream has come true – setting up our Burgundian farmhouse, a heavenly place where you’ll find rest and space. Kimaro Farmhouse stands for quality and authenticity on a small scale.
Robby and me first met at a very special spot in Tanzania: Ndutu Safari Lodge in the Serengeti. Robby is a photographer and was travelling annually to Tanzania to work on a photographic art project, in which he is capturing the African animal world in a unique and authentic manner. I was living in Tanzania and was Lodge Manager of Ndutu Safari Lodge. Robby is Belgian and I am Dutch. We’ve been living permanently at Kimaro Farmhouse since 2011. By setting up this property in France, we’ve been able to mix our passions of the great outdoors and Africa into a wonderful cocktail.
We are situated in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by fields, cows, forests and nature. A country experience in African style!

Accommodation
Our elegant safari tents have wooden frames, which gives them a distant colonial look. Each safari tent is set up on a beautiful piece of meadow. This insures optimal space with lot`s of privacy.
From the tent you have a magnificent view of the hilly landscape of Burgundy and you can enjoy the rural life in a luxurious way.
You realize the richness of this unusual holiday, in the natural rhythm of outdoor life.
Each tent is very spacious, cosy and decorated with African accents. Sleeping under canvas is an extraordinary experience and you can hear the sounds of a rich animal world, such as frogs, cicadas and birds, including the characteristic call of the tawny owl, which is a regular visitor to Kimaro Farmhouse.
