We are a regenerative tourism lodge set in 7 acres of natural gardens and woodland, rich in birds, butterflies, mammals, and the occasional leopard! We are the “The Essence of Tranquillity” at the gateway to the Himalaya, having a magnificent Himalayan panorama of three 8,000m peaks, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna and Manaslu spread before our terrace. Our mission is to give every guest a special experience of Nepal’s middle hills though skilled local guides, authentic Nepali food, living in the shadow of the Himalaya. With 18 rooms in stone bungalows in local architectural style, we are the ideal base for guests who want a rural locale, yet with access to Pokhara city for its lakeside attractions and adventure sports. We have exciting walks from an hour to full day hikes, all led by expert local guides, for those who enjoy hiking but do not wish to trek in the classical Himalayan manner. Walks focus on flora and fauna, culture, or just plain exercise! A range of yoga, meditation and massage therapies are available. Operating more like a private home, our friendly, discreet staff have been with the lodge since its opening in 1998 by Sir Edmund Hillary and are adept in making every guest feel personally welcome and relaxed. Our award-winning kitchen provides home-style cookery, with authentic Nepali dishes or western cuisine, and happily caters for guests with special dietary needs. With a strong Community Support Partnership, we work closely to help the local village’s development vision. We are independently audited for our responsible conservation tourism programmes and practices.
